# Edit & download

### Preview and save

* Open **My content** and select a completed video.
* Play the video through and review its visuals, text, and sound. The line under the title includes the duration and the voice mode when applicable, such as **Narration** or **AI person speaks**. Story formats can include mixed voices and silent cuts; check the actual result.
* For an ordinary video with narration, open **Make another version**, then **Make a version where the AI person speaks** if offered. Review the credits before generating. Story-format videos keep their per-cut speaker rules, and **Short visual gag**, **5-second social reel**, and **Sensory ritual** stay silent. **Make another version** also offers **Add background music**.
* Click **Download video** to save it.
* Click **Copy post text** to copy the prepared caption and hashtags; review them before posting.
* For a video made with background music, **More** also offers **Download background music** and **Download the video without music**.

### Download links

* **Download video** uses the signed-in account's owner-scoped download path. It does not expose another user's file.
* If a download link does not open, return to **My content**, open the completed video again, and choose **Download video** once more. If it still fails, report the result link and the time of the attempt so the file path can be checked.
* Download the resulting MP4 before uploading it to another publishing service. Do not share private connection keys or protected links with the destination service.

### Make changes

* Click **Edit video**.
* Select a clip on the timeline. Drag its middle to reorder it; drag its handles to trim it.
* Use **Split**, **Text**, **Captions**, **Sound**, or **Add** as needed. **Add** brings in **My videos** (MP4 or MOV, up to 50 MB), a **Photo** (JPG, PNG, or WebP, up to 10 MB), **Sound & music** (MP3, M4A, or WAV, up to 20 MB), files from your **Cloud folder**, the video's **Revelio cover** or **Whole Revelio video**, its **Revelio cuts**, and **Revelio music** when the timeline has no music. A video can have up to 12 clips.
* Click **Export**. The **Export edited version** dialog shows the length, frame size, and time (usually 1–3 minutes). Exporting uses no credits. Choose **Export**, or **Keep editing** to go back.
* When it is done, the edit is saved as a new edited version in **My content**; the original video stays as it is. Open the edited version and click **Download video**.
* To change an edited version, open it and choose **Edit video** again. Its export dialog reads **Export again**: the new video replaces that edited version, and the original still stays as it is. While it is being exported again, that version cannot be downloaded, and AI apps do not list it until it finishes.

The detail below shows the timeline at a readable scale: each cut, the **+** transition controls, blue clip-sound bars, and the editing toolbar.

#### Transitions

* Tap **+** between two clips to add a transition: dissolve, fade to black or white, slide in four directions, zoom, blur, mosaic, wipe, circle, or clock wipe. Each choice shows a small picture of what it does.
* With a clip selected, its **Transition** setting opens the same choices.
* Captions, the music bar, and separated sounds stay with the clip they belong to. Trim, move, or delete a clip, or add a transition, and they follow it. A caption that was only on a deleted clip is deleted with it; **Undo** brings it back.

#### Sound

* Each clip's own sound has its own blue bar under the clip, labeled Narration, Speech, Video sound, or **Silent** for a silent cut. Tap it to set that clip's volume or turn it off.
* Tap **Separate sound** on a clip to move its sound onto its own purple bar. The picture stays; you can drag the sound to another place, trim its ends, split it, fade it in or out, or delete it.
* Tap **Sound** to see every track at once: the video sound, background music, and any sound clips, each with its own volume. Add music, effects, or your own voice with **Add sound**.
* A video made with generated background music opens in the editor with that music as its own track, **Revelio music**, so it is not heard twice. Select the music to set **Ending** (**Fade out** or **Stop as is**) and **When someone speaks**: **Lower under speech** or **Same level throughout**. If you remove it, **Add** → **Revelio music** puts it back.
* To keep music off an outro that has its own sound, select the green music bar and drag its end to the outro, or tap **End before the last clip**.

#### AI scenes

* Tap **AI scene** to make a new 5-second scene with AI, or select a clip and tap **Remake this cut with AI**.
* Under **1. Which frame should it start from?**, choose **Upload photo** (JPG, PNG, or WebP, up to 10 MB), **Cloud** (an image from your Creator Cloud folder), or one of the video's own frames, such as **Cut 1** or **Cover**. Photos you uploaded or imported, and photo clips already on the timeline, appear as **My photo**.
* For a new scene, choose a style: **Phone-cam review**, **Product close-up**, **In use**, **Unboxing**, or **Very creative**. A style fills in the description; change it if you like. **Very creative** needs no description: the AI picks a bold concept at random, so the result is different every time.
* Turn on **The AI person speaks** so the person says a line to the camera. It is off by default, and on for **Phone-cam review**. Write the line in English, or leave it empty and the AI writes a short one. A speaking scene costs a little more credit. In a **Talking product** video, a new scene that starts from one of the video's own frames shows **The product speaks** instead, so the product says the line. If the video's lead never speaks, a new scene from its frames is made without sound; the dialog shows **The lead never speaks, so the new scene is made without sound.** instead of the speaking switch.
* Check the credits and click **Create**. You can keep editing while the scene is made; when it is ready it is added to the timeline, or waits under **Add**.

#### Remake a cut with AI

* **Remake cut 2 with AI** (with the cut's number) has no style step. **2. What happens in the scene?** opens filled in with what the cut was asked to show; change just the part you want to fix. **Same scene, more natural**, **Show the product more clearly**, and **More dynamic camera** add to that text.
* A narration cut offers **Keep the original narration**: only the picture changes, and the cut's voice stays. A dialogue cut says its line again, and a silent cut stays silent.
* The new 5-second scene usually takes 1–3 minutes and replaces the cut when it is done. A clip that spans several cuts cannot be remade as a whole; split it at the cut boundaries and remake each cut.

#### Review AI-scene quality and cost

AI scenes use your chosen start image and the applicable generation model without a separate paid anatomy inspection. A successfully generated, readable clip is saved for you to review; imperfect anatomy, movement, or speech does not trigger an automatic paid correction or a no-charge failure. A model video with no audio can still be used as a silent clip. Check it before exporting.

If the video service accepts a scene but never starts it, Revelio requests it again under the same credit hold instead of failing, so the scene can take a little longer.

**Remake this cut with AI** and other new-generation actions are separate paid requests. Review the credit estimate and compare the advanced models available to your account before confirming. File decoding and storage failures remain technical errors covered by the existing failed-job settlement policy. See [Credits & help](/revelio/credits-and-help.md).

#### Side panel

* **Back** at the top of the side panel returns to the panel you came from and names it, for example "Back · Cut 2", so you can open another setting without selecting the clip again. On phones it is in the panel's header.
* On a computer with a wide window, the right panel has two tabs: **Settings** and **Cloud folder**. Drag a file from **Cloud folder** onto the timeline or the preview, or tap it to add it at the playhead.

### Creator Cloud files

With Creator Cloud, files in your **Cloud folder** can be added from **Add** → **Cloud folder** or dragged in from the **Cloud folder** tab. A picture becomes a 3-second clip, a video goes in as a clip, and music becomes the background music. Adding a file counts toward your monthly transfer once per editing session. Deleting a file from your folder does not remove it from an edit that already used it. See [Creator Cloud](/revelio/creator-cloud.md) for access, limits, and the editor's file types.

### Use the edited version in an AI app

An exported edit is a separate completed video. Through MCP, first list recent videos and select the entry marked `isEditedVersion: true`, checking `editedFromGenerationId` against the original. Then use `get_video_download` for that ID and download the MP4 with your Revelio key in the Authorization header. Upload the downloaded file separately; request a publish package if you also need captions and review notes. See [Connect AI apps (MCP)](/revelio/mcp.md). The original remains available.
